bgpd is a Border Gateway Protocol 4 (BGP-4) protocol daemon.
BGP-4 is described in RFC1771. bgpd also supports Multiprotocol
Extension for BGP-4 (sometimes known as BGP-4+ or MBGP) which is
described in RFC2283.
BGP-4 is one of the EGPs (Exterior Gateway Protocols) and is used for inter-domain routing.
